The Gertrudes are a Kingston-based collective of musicians and artists, who’ve recently reassembled to record some new music. I was asked to help out with the layout and build for the site.
For a site like this, too many pages risked being a distraction for visitors. We opted for a single-page design that shows off the latest updates and features music and videos.
Greg Tilson of The Gertrudes come up with the concept of a design built around a flexible banner image of the band and beautiful illustrations were provided by John Claytor. Tara Pelow’s design artfully brought it all to life. Tara was responsible for design, layout, and type.
I assisted with the initial layout plan, and handled the build and back-end and technical development.
