GEELs
(Global Economies & Everyday Lives)
Queen’s University
GEELs (Global Economies & Everyday Lives) is a community of professors and graduate students at Queen’s University whose works examines social transformation, racial capitalism, and social reproduction in spaces of the Global South. The purpose of the site is to share and promote the work of the GEELs community.
This site was designed and built to fit the needs of GEELs. The site is user-friendly for both visitors and those at GEELs who administer and update the site. The design features photos provided by members of the GEELs community, and uses big, bold colours to reflect the vibrance of the research, and to move away from the pale tones with which Southern communites and spaces are often depicted.
